How to make an intentional community

• 2025-11-10
• So I’ve only lived in one intentional community (Era 17 - “Life Itself” intentional community → Kensho), and this was during the off-season when there wasn’t that much going on
• So, I’m definitely not an expert, but I have some thoughts, and I’d like to do some more thinking
• I’m living at the Effective Altruism Hotel right now which hasn’t historically been set up as an intentional community (more of a work focus with people hanging out and organising events as and when)

• I lived here for a few months - Era 17 - “Life Itself” intentional community → Kensho

Weekly sharing circle

• This was the only mandatory event, and it was good and feels like it should be a thing in pretty much any community
• A circle where each person would talk for ~3 minutes about how it felt for them to live there that week
• A good place to share Withholds

The hippy retreat

• This was a very intentional container that I could learn from!
