I am looking to secure funding to increase the amount of time & energy I can spend on improving my thinking, my ability to grapple with complex ideas (that is, my MHC level).
I believe that I am intelligent and agentic, and held back by a lack of technical skill, and resources. I would like to learn math and then possibly software engineering, as I believe that training in these will increase my MHC level, and therefore my level of agency/power.
Since June of 2025, I have been writing regularly on this website, and this has allowed me to become gradually more aligned and refactored. From almost no personal writing, to >330,000 words.
This was inspired by the Open Research Initiative and Defender of Basic. My main bottleneck has been competing priorities. I believe that the ability to focus on this full-time would at least 5x my rate of growth.
I would like to undertake a 1-3 year full-time project of improving my thinking ability, with the desired output being the ability to be a founder, an entrepreneur, a Doer of Great Things, rather than what I have been so far, a Useful Idiot.
Foregrounding my lack of education
A thread I’ve been on for a long time (years, in the background, months, in the foreground) is how my poor education and limiting beliefs have held me back in life.
That’s a large part of the reason I am now at CEEALAR — to get in-person mentorship from Attila, the Executive Director. And one of the key things I’ve gotten from him has been him saying multiple times: “you have unlimited potential”.
I believe that I have been on an unusual growth arc. A quote from Ethan Alley, the co-CEO of Alvea, who I worked for for a year:
I think this level of autonomy was made possible by what I might call his “metacognitive emphasis”- he spends a lot of effort and consideration thinking about how to improve and get better at reasoning about aspects of his own thinking and process beyond the object level. For instance, he’s very intentional about his own productivity and figuring out his personal failure modes. Because of this, he’s someone I expect to see growing — by redefining himself and his capabilities— more frequently than others.

A few things have really shifted for me recently. One is realising how bad I’ve been at thinking, due to a lack of training in even the basics of maths, logic, argumentative essays, etc.
I have been doing this since June 2025
I am resource-constrained and do not want to take on non-compounding work
I was offered a 15-hour-a-week role. I would much rather spend those 15 hours learning things that compound!! I don’t want to have to do work that doesn’t compound!!
